Sean,

I finally got it going up to the point of the Sequel Pro (took me all day). I can connect to the host, but not able to connect to database Joomla (the name of my jumpbox)
MySQL said: Unknown database ´Joomla`.

Where could I have gone wrong? I´d be so happy for your help. I´ve come right up to this point with great difficulty – and so its trmendously frustrating not to get the results.

Could not resolve hostname (IP address):nodename nor servname provided, or not known.

Hi Martin, The JumpBox Wiki contains some information on getting started with SSH. I think you want to do ssh admin@IPADDRESS where IP address is the IP address of the JumpBox shown on its virtual console. Also, you are better off asking questions in the JumpBox Forums. Austin

When I type in ssh admin/Joomla, I get….
´could not resolve hostname admin/Joomla: nodename nor servname provided, or not known`

This thing is just not working for me. What am I missing here???

Sean,
I have my jumpbox for Joomla on Mac – the same as you have. I have followed the instructions as per the video as well as the Wiki. Admittedly, I have never used the Terminal before. What is the password I have to enter? Is it the admin password I use for Jumpbox? That´s the one I use and I always get something that says it´s the wrong password. I can´t get your video on full screen mode, so I can´t actually see what you´re typing in on the Terminal. Without the database I can´t resolve a lot of the problems I have in Joomla. I am sorry to bother you and would be really grateful for some more help.

The description of using VirtualBox with JumpBox seems pretty outdated here. Just click File > Import Appliance, and choose the downloaded JumpBox download. Check out the following video, starting around the 4 minute mark:

The JumpBox for Joomla does in fact have MySQL installed and the technique shown in this video works for accessing it.
